Adelphia's Restaurant - South Hadley, MA.

What a way to start off a blog with one of my favorite restaurants in all of Western Massachusetts: Adelphia's. I used to live down the street from Adelphia's, but that is not how I found this gem. I started going to Adelphia's back in the late 90's with my friends, Eric Swett and Uncle Phil. It was one of Phil's favorite restaurants and I soon realized why. Let's start with breakfast. After all, it is the first meal of the day. Breakfast at Adelphia's is great. Period. They have a HUGE selection. Omelets, sandwiches, pancakes, and french toast, Adelphia's has it all. The selection is amazing and it doesn't stop there. When it comes to lunch and dinner, the menu selection goes 5 full pages and that's not including specials. Pot roast, chicken saltimboca, montecristos, and even burgers, the pages are stock piled with new adventures and tasty treats that all seem to satisfy in the perfect way. Desserts are available, but most people can't make it to that point because the portions are real. What do I mean by real? I mean that they are not the chain restaurant portions that we are used to. It's a legit portion of food; something momma would be proud of. Anyway back to the food. The food is tasteful and not overdone. Whoever owns all the recipes that Adelphia's uses, knew the flavor profile of each dish and never over did it. It was like they worked for the Food Network or something. I enjoy going to Adelphia's for the laid back atmosphere and great people. It offers great food in different ways that you just don't get anywhere else. It's like going to a diner, but in a restaurant atmosphere. I am glad that there are still places around the area like this because they are going away with corporate chains taking over. Give Adelphia's a try when you are in the area, I can confidently say you will not be disappointed.

SIDE NOTE: In each segment about a restaurant that I write, I summarize the restaurant like I did above. I won't point out any dish in particular (unless I felt like it's horrible), but I will tell you everything the restaurant offers. I will tell you why I like it and why it appeals to me from every aspect of the restaurant. I hope you all enjoy.
